The other night I went along to Dan Black’s album launch gig at Pure Groove in London. It was nice and intimate, only a handful of people there, and I got a chance to chat with him after the gig too. We discussed his music, my music, other people’s music…and his mic cutting out randomly that night. This video is proof that the gremlins were indeed musical, cutting the sound in time to his music ;-)

Firstly, let me apologise to those of you who see the BNP issue as just another irritating media goldmine, like climate change or swine flu, something that everyone is banging on about when all you really want is to be left alone browsing YouTube for funny Family Guy clips.
However, let me say this. Today I came across this article which led me to this article*, which in turn made my blood boil and led me to agree that instead of preaching against the BNP we should let them dig their own shallow grave. “If we’re so evil, expose us” they say.
So here I present to you, for your delight and delectation, Nick Griffin, leader of the BNP, in his own words, spouting utter racist shit and hateful lies to pander to those with no backbone capable of forming their own cultured opinion.

This was a headline on BBC News…it would seem that this colony, spread across the US, Europe and Japan have been quietly amassing their numbers and, according to the BBC, could “rival humans in the scale of its world domination”. Well, I’ll believe that when I see them pick up a chainsaw and start chopping down some forests, or start drilling for oil, or build nuclear weapons.
However, there is one particular thing that strikes me about this story, and it gives weight to the argument that one day we might all be ‘workers’ and ‘soldiers’ living under the rule of a Queen (hang on UK-readers, this sounds familiar…): the ants from this colony do not attack eachother. Take one from Amercia, and another from Japan, put them in the same petri dish and BOOM - nothing happens. They say hello, ‘sniff eachother out’, as it were, and recognise that they’re from the same lineage of super-world-dominating ants. Do this with ants from different colonies, and, just like humans, you’ll have a war on your hands. It’s nature after all, and as someone once said, ‘only the fit survive’. Or something like that.
But not these ants. They have a higher purpose…and we’d do well to learn from them.
